Success at Jesus’ Word

I received another encouraging revelation today from brother Adrian Ho via text message.

Jesus first met Peter and used his boat. Before that, Peter and his friends caught nothing for the whole night. Peter’s empty nets revealed two things:

- The nets are empty so that God can fill them. The truth is: God is positioning us to receive a harvest.

- It is also God’s way of telling us, “Have you done trying in your strength? Now let Jesus into your boat, and see Him bring success at His word.”

- Adrian Ho

Indeed, only Jesus can bring good success at His word. “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows (or painful toil); for so He gives His beloved sleep.” (Psalm 127:1-2)

May we all continue to rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him, for we shall inherit the earth, and we shall delight ourselves in the abundance of peace. (Psalm 37:7-11)

Let us labour to enter into rest. Rest in Jesus’ finished work. The work has been accomplished. When we rest, the Holy Spirit will direct us and guide us, and we shall find ourselves at the right place at the right time to be blessed and be a blessing, and we shall prosper and have good success. :)

What is the perfect law?

Psalm 19:7 says, “The law of the Lord is perfect and preserves one’s life.” I believe this. The question is: what do you believe the perfect law is? —– “And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.” (Luke24:27) Jesus is thus not only the fulfillment of the Scriptures of Israel (Psalms, Prophets, and Law), He is the fullness of God as well. The Law of the Lord Is Christ Himself, He indeed preserves our lives, He is our sustenance, He is LIFE-giving Spirit. He is the Wonderful One of whom Isaiah spoke (9:6). There is a law that liberates us and there is a law that binds us. The Spirit of LIFE in Christ Jesus has set us free from the law of sin and death. The law of liberty is the law of love. It is a higher law. It is CHRIST Himself living in & through us. As us, for us & through us. Praise God for our wonderful Lord Jesus Christ. HE IS ALL IN ALL.-:) (Adapted from Yahoo Answers) Related links: Louie Giglio – “I AM” He Is Our Peace Share

Inspiration comes from within; motivation comes from without

Inspiration comes from within; motivation comes from without

I find that in many cases, church teachings are more about motivation rather than inspiration because they tend to emphasise on repeating well rehearsed cliches and christian lingo, and psyching themselves up to “go out of the comfort zone” and be happy or to succeed, etc. I have never really felt comfortable with that kind of mindset because it does not produce rest and peace. Therefore, I agree with Deepak Chopra in his observation in this website. “Instead of motivation look for inspiration. Inspiration comes from the same word as spirit. When you are inspired, the spirit moves you.” -Deepak Chopra I believe inspiration comes when we rest in our true identity and in the unconditional, inclusive love of God within us because all inspiration and creativity comes from His spirit within us. I was reading this article earlier and I thought it does quite a good job in differentiating between motivation and inspiration. “So, motivation is about things that you think you should do or that you’re supposed to do. Inspiration is about being called to act because you’re in direct alignment with the magnetic, luminous marrow of potential that is you. When you’re inspired you know because… Life [...]

Proverbs 4 Hearken to Words of Life and Guard Our Hearts with What We Hear

Proverbs 4:20-23 My child, pay attention to MY WORDS; listen attentively to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your sight, GUARD them within YOUR HEART; for they are life to those who find them and healing to one’s entire body. GUARD YOUR HEART with all vigilance, for from it are the sources of life. Twice it says hearken to words of life. And equally twice it says to guard our hearts with what we hear. Words that rob our assurance or challenge our faith that God is good, against such we must guard our hearts. The Word cannot be effective to produce such a harvest of health, wholeness and victory when we listen to such messages. When we hear words that bring us joy and hope, nurture and guard it through re-listening, meditation and speaking it forth. God’s Word is the Seed of life to health, prosperity and all that we ever need to be victorious. – Adrian Ho Amen, this is so important. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, and not be carried about doctrines that instill fear and condemnation (Hebrews 13:9). Share
